Metallic is the opposite. It is a smooth, high-gloss, mirror-like surface, and gloss shows everything underneath. A slab that is out of level will read as a low spot once the light hits it. A patched trench or a badly feathered repair can telegraph through. None of that is a coating failure — it is the floor showing you what it actually looks like.

So on a rough slab we do one of two things: put the extra prep in up front to get the surface flat before coating, or steer you to a flake epoxy system that will look better for less money. We would rather say that at the estimate than after.
